You are not Special Speech

So much of our media is filled with “gurus” giving advice – there are weight-loss gurus, social media gurus, spiritual gurus and while each gives some kind of benefit there still lacks in our society an over-arching wisdom of life. Just because you have a big house, your own TV series and a flat stomach does not mean you are good at living. Real wisdom is rarely found in the upper echelons of success because it tends to be quiet and unassuming because just as teacher David McCullough tells us in the following speech “real happiness knows it is not special”.

From the outside, McCullough is barely distinguishable from any other mild-mannered suit from the midwest but in a recent speech to his class of graduating seniors he has shown that great speeches are not the reserve of a hallowed few. He cuts through modern fluff with a well-written and passionate speech. It has had over a million hits in a week and I hope it gets much more:
