5 Reasons Why Living off Campus is Awesome

The on/off campus debate rages and we just don’t know who to believe. These friends and blogs are saying to stay on campus and these other people are ranting about staying off campus. Who should you believe? Well to help you out, here are our 5 reasons to go off campus.

Cheaper

Going off campus will give you a huge range of property to choose from. You will certainly find a better deal than you can on campus. Just be sure to factor-in your travel costs.

Freedom

There are no officers or wardens out in the real world. So you can do what you like. You don’t have to worry about security guys coming round and fining you because your housemate let off the fire extinguisher out the window in a fit of drunken high spirits.

Get to know the Local Community

You will soon be buying your food from local shops, frequenting cafes and bars that will  not be 100% student-based. Your neighbours will want to get to know you. This is all good experience for an undergraduate and will build life skills

Experience Paying Bills

Running a household is a skill that needs practice. Get that practice build your budgeting and people skills by striking out on your own.

Have Killer Parties

Take all the furniture and lock it away in an upstairs bedroom. Gaffer-tape lino over the carpets and set up some decks and speakers in every room. Invite everyone. You won’t get away with that on campus
